1. REVIEW: The Illuminated Tarot by Carol Herzer
This was a bucket list deck for me. Carol Herzer has been making them made by hand since the 70s, and if I never got a chance to own one I would have been sorely disappointed.
Out of all the RWS clones I have encountered while searching for my soul deck, this is the most beautifully coloured in my opinion. The warmth and emotion of the hues make it an excellent reader, too. It's a deck that needs to be experienced in person to truly appreciate.
I chose the "perfect size" which are borderless and without titles - which I find to be liberating in a reading. It allows the pictures to really talk and, without the titles, they speak for themselves.
The size is great, the cards are easy to handle for anyone I would imagine, but I don't have small hands. I enjoy riffling and bridging this deck. And the lamination makes it feel l pretty durable, too.
It's a no-brainer for me, when I need a versatile deck to take on the go, to read for myself or anyone else, the Illuminated Tarot by Carol Herzer is an easy choice.
It's as beautiful as it is practical. If not a soul deck, it's definitely a horcrux.
You can still get them from her website http://www.soul-guidance.com/ international shipping is a little pricey but it arrived so quickly and without and fuss that it was well worth the money.
